How date difference works
Elapsed days = (end UTC midnight − start UTC midnight) ÷ 86,400,000. Start is excluded; reversed dates give negative results.
Try an example
1 January to 8 January → 7 days.
Good to know
Date-only calculations use the Gregorian calendar and UTC day boundaries, so daylight-saving changes do not alter day counts. Years 0001–9999.
