How Visual PDF Editor works

Renders each PDF page and lets you click to place text or drag highlights, lines and whiteout covers directly on the document.

Try an example

Type an answer, then click the exact answer line on the rendered PDF page.

Good to know

Local processing. Maximum 50 MB per input, 100 MB total, 20 files and 2,000 total pages. Encrypted or malformed PDFs are rejected. Adds new visual content without rewriting or reflowing existing PDF text. Whiteout is a visible cover, not secure redaction. Built-in font text supports basic Latin and Western European characters.

Your privacy

Processing happens on this device for this tool. We do not upload your input, put it in share links or save it to your favourites. Closing this tab discards the working input; downloaded results remain wherever you save them.

When this tool is useful

The visual editor is suited to adding a short answer, highlight, line or visible cover to a rendered page when native PDF text reflow is not required.

How to use it

  1. Load a PDF and select the markup operation that matches the change.
  2. Place the text or draw the mark directly on the page preview, checking the zoom and page number.
  3. Export a new copy and inspect it in a separate PDF viewer before distributing it.

Checks before you rely on the result

  • Inserted text and shapes are visual overlays; existing text is not rewritten or reflowed.
  • Whiteout is a visible cover, not secure redaction.
  • A built-in font is used for placed text, so test non-Latin characters before relying on the output.

This page is maintained with the tool implementation and its deterministic tests. If the result looks wrong, report the issue with a non-sensitive example.
