This tool is registered for local processing. Its tool input is handled in the current page; LittleKit’s product analytics do not include the input value.

What it does

Copies the rectangle starting at X,Y with your chosen width and height into a new image. Coordinates use the displayed, orientation-corrected image.

Worked example

X=0, Y=0, width=500 and height=500 takes the top-left square.

The example demonstrates the operation. For file-based tools, results depend on the selected file and options.

How the result is produced

Copies the rectangle starting at X,Y with your chosen width and height into a new image. Coordinates use the displayed, orientation-corrected image.

Important limits

Crop coordinates must fit within the original image. JPG, PNG, WebP and browser-decodable AVIF inputs (named converters require their stated source format); 25 MB and 24 megapixels maximum. Output is a single still frame; animation, source colour profiles and metadata are not preserved.

Choosing the next step

Use Resize when the dimensions are the problem, Compress when the bytes are the problem, and Metadata Remover when the file contains information you do not want to distribute. Format conversion is a separate choice: JPG is usually compact for photos, PNG keeps transparency, and WebP can be a useful modern compromise.
