A 2400 × 1600 photo can be re-encoded at quality 80 to trade some detail for fewer bytes.

Good to know

A smaller file is not guaranteed. PNG quality is not adjustable. JPG, PNG, WebP and browser-decodable AVIF inputs (named converters require their stated source format); 25 MB and 24 megapixels maximum. Output is a single still frame; animation, source colour profiles and metadata are not preserved.

When this tool is useful

Use the image compressor when the pixels look right but the file is too large for a message, form upload or website.

How to use it

  1. Choose a photo or other still raster image and inspect its original dimensions and byte count.
  2. Select a JPEG or WebP quality that matches the purpose, then compare the output size and preview.
  3. Download the smaller copy only after checking fine text, edges and transparency if those details matter.

Checks before you rely on the result

  • Lossy compression trades detail for bytes; a PNG does not expose a JPEG-style quality slider.
  • Repeated JPEG exports can accumulate generation loss.
  • The tool works locally and does not change the source file.
