What it does

Updates the standard title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer fields in a new copy of the PDF.

Worked example

Replace an old author name or add keywords before sharing a document.

The example demonstrates the operation. For file-based tools, results depend on the selected file and options.

How the result is produced

Updates the standard title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer fields in a new copy of the PDF.

Important limits

Local processing. Maximum 50 MB per input, 100 MB total, 20 files and 2,000 total pages. Encrypted or malformed PDFs are rejected. Edits common document Info fields only. It does not alter visible content, XMP, attachments, page-level metadata or digital signatures.

Choosing the next step

Start with the least destructive operation that solves the job. Page organization preserves more of the source than raster compression; compression is useful for scans but can remove selectable text; flattened redaction removes the original object layer but requires you to mark every sensitive area yourself.
