What it does

Adds a customizable footer to every page, with current-page and total-page placeholders.

Worked example

Use Page {page} of {pages} to create Page 1 of 8, Page 2 of 8 and so on.

The example demonstrates the operation. For file-based tools, results depend on the selected file and options.

How the result is produced

Adds a customizable footer to every page, with current-page and total-page placeholders.

Important limits

Local processing. Maximum 50 MB per input, 100 MB total, 20 files and 2,000 total pages. Encrypted or malformed PDFs are rejected. Footers use a built-in font with basic Latin and Western European character support. Existing page content near the lower edge can overlap the footer.

Choosing the next step

Start with the least destructive operation that solves the job. Page organization preserves more of the source than raster compression; compression is useful for scans but can remove selectable text; flattened redaction removes the original object layer but requires you to mark every sensitive area yourself.
