Good to know

PNG output may be larger. Pixel content can still reveal identities, location or text. New encoder-generated technical metadata can exist. JPG, PNG, WebP and browser-decodable AVIF inputs (named converters require their stated source format); 25 MB and 24 megapixels maximum. Output is a single still frame; animation, source colour profiles and metadata are not preserved.

When this tool is useful

Use this before publishing a photograph when camera, GPS, comment or other source metadata should not accompany the pixels.

How to use it

  1. Select the image and review the file details if you need to understand what is being removed.
  2. Create a fresh PNG from the decoded pixels.
  3. Inspect the output and remember that the visible scene can still identify a place or person.

Checks before you rely on the result

  • The output can be larger because PNG favours lossless pixels over compact photographs.
  • Removing tags does not blur faces, remove text or erase information visible in the image.
  • Metadata support depends on the browser decoder and source format.
