How image metadata remover works

Creates a fresh PNG from decoded pixels, discarding original EXIF, GPS, comments and other source metadata.

Try an example

A phone photograph is rasterized into a PNG without its original GPS tag.

Good to know

PNG output may be larger. Pixel content can still reveal identities, location or text. New encoder-generated technical metadata can exist. JPG, PNG and WebP only; 25 MB and 24 megapixels maximum. Output is a single still frame; animation, source colour profiles and metadata are not preserved.
